I am writing to formally apply for the Network and Security Engineer (Entry-Level) position at SpeedLink High-Tech Solutions Limited. Having recently completed the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) training program at SpeedLink, where I emerged as the Best Overall Graduating Student, I am highly motivated to contribute my skills and knowledge as a member of your technical team.
My training and internship experience at SpeedLink provided me with hands-on exposure to real-world cybersecurity operations, including network traffic monitoring, vulnerability assessment, and application security implementation. During my training, I assisted in analyzing network activities for potential threats and worked with cybersecurity frameworks, policies, and compliance standards. I also led a small team in implementing application security for a collaboration project (MediChain Africa) as a way to conclude my program. This project enabled me strengthen my teamwork and leadership skills.
In addition to my experience at SpeedLink, I hold a BSc in Software Engineering (2:1) and am currently pursuing an MSc in Software Engineering Technology. My technical skill set includes network scanning and analysis using Nmap and Wireshark, web security testing with Burp Suite, Linux system administration, cryptography fundamentals, and defensive security concepts such as firewalls and monitoring. I have applied these skills across multiple projects, including network security assessments, web vulnerability testing, malware analysis, and the development of a phishing-detection Chrome extension.
What excites me most about this opportunity is the chance to grow professionally within an organization that played a key role in my cybersecurity development.
